Cr\u00e9dito: CONICET Fotograf\u00eda<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Un cambio de paradigma m\u00e9dico<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hasta ahora, la comunidad m\u00e9dica consideraba que la variabilidad del ritmo card\u00edaco depend\u00eda casi exclusivamente del\u00a0Sistema Nervioso Aut\u00f3nomo (SNA). Bajo ese supuesto, la mayor\u00eda de los tratamientos y herramientas diagn\u00f3sticas se dise\u00f1aron para modular ese sistema.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, bas\u00e1ndose en evidencia cl\u00ednica de\u00a0miles de pacientes e individuos sanos, los investigadores proponen un nuevo modelo: el SNA aporta un est\u00edmulo basal, pero es el\u00a0Nodo Sinusal\u00a0quien\u00a0modula activamente la variabilidad de los latidos. Este enfoque abre nuevas posibilidades para el diagn\u00f3stico y tratamiento de arritmias, miocardiopat\u00edas y la enfermedad del nodo sinusal, entre otras patolog\u00edas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>El Nodo Sinusal y su estructura fractal<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Uno de los hallazgos m\u00e1s relevantes del estudio es que el Nodo Sinusal posee una\u00a0estructura fractal, una arquitectura compleja que evoluciona a lo largo de la vida. El equipo logr\u00f3 identificar\u00a0tres exponentes cr\u00edticos\u00a0que describen matem\u00e1ticamente esa geometr\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A partir de esos par\u00e1metros, los investigadores desarrollaron un modelo capaz de\u00a0predecir c\u00f3mo deber\u00eda evolucionar un Nodo Sinusal sano desde la gestaci\u00f3n hasta la adultez. Cr\u00e9dito: CONICET Fotograf\u00eda\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fibrosis card\u00edaca y diagn\u00f3stico temprano<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El trabajo tambi\u00e9n establece una relaci\u00f3n directa entre la\u00a0fibrosis card\u00edaca\u00a0\u2014el reemplazo de c\u00e9lulas musculares por fibras de col\u00e1geno\u2014, la estructura del Nodo Sinusal y la p\u00e9rdida de variabilidad del ritmo card\u00edaco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La investigaci\u00f3n demuestra que la\u00a0red de col\u00e1geno que rodea al Nodo Sinusal\u00a0no solo lo a\u00edsla el\u00e9ctricamente, sino que tambi\u00e9n\u00a0define su estructura fractal. Es jefa de Servicio de Cardiolog\u00eda del Hospital Prof. Dr. Rodolfo Rossi, responsable del \u00c1rea de Electrofisiolog\u00eda Card\u00edaca Invasiva del Hospital Italiano de La Plata e integra la Comisi\u00f3n Directiva de la Federaci\u00f3n Argentina de Cardiolog\u00eda.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Un marcapasos argentino de nueva generaci\u00f3n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A partir de estos descubrimientos, el equipo est\u00e1 desarrollando un\u00a0marcapasos que incorpora la variabilidad del ritmo card\u00edaco, una caracter\u00edstica ausente en los dispositivos actuales. La invenci\u00f3n ya fue\u00a0patentada en la Argentinapor el CONICET, la UNLP y el Ministerio de Salud de la Provincia de Buenos Aires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los marcapasos convencionales funcionan con una\u00a0estimulaci\u00f3n peri\u00f3dica, lo que puede provocar p\u00e9rdida de variabilidad, remodelaci\u00f3n card\u00edaca y el llamado\u00a0<em>s\u00edndrome de marcapasos<\/em>.
